May 18, 2002: "Colors of Identity" voted the best exhibition of 2001

The National Museum in Krakow  and "Colors of identity" won the coveted Sybill a Award - meaning the Tom Podl Collection exhibition was voted the best museum exhibition of the 2001 season in Poland. Ms. Anna Krol, the exhibition curator and the Deputy Director of the National Museum in Krakow received the award in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, on May 18, 2002.

April 6, 2002: a lecture at University of Washington, Seattle, WA

A public lecture by Mr. Podl at the University of Washington, Seattle on his collection and on his passion as a collector: "Colors of Identity: Discovering My Roots through Polish Art". The lecture was organized and sponsored by the Department of the Slavic Languages of the UW. In the program: a performance of Polish popular songs by the students of the Department, Tom's presentation with slides from his collection, and a Q&A session.
